Corporate Profiles
Vatech
Vatech is a leading provider of dental digital radiography and offers the most diverse product portfolio, including cone beam CT, panoramic imaging, cephalometric, and intraoral sensors. Dedicated solely to innovative digital x-ray imaging technologies that aid doctors and their patients, the company develops and manufactures its own digital radiographic sensors, the most critical component of diagnostic x-ray systems.
Vatech was established in early 1992 in South Korea. Starting as an industrial equipment manufacturer, it quickly realized the need to bring quality, well-made dental digital radiography products to the market. In 2002, it released the first digital panoramic x-ray unit into the South Korean market. In 2005, it developed the world’s first 3-in-1 dental digital radiography unit allowing cone beam CT, panoramic, and cephalometric functions to be used in one platform.
Today, there are 8 branch offices and 17 technical support centers worldwide, with 11 overseas offices in 9 countries throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. Vatech America is headquartered in Secaucus, NJ, with an additional branch office in Yorba Linda, CA.
Vatech prides itself on providing clinically and ethically responsible products that exceed the industry standard. It advocates the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) radiographic principle in promoting the responsible use of cone beam CT. In order to minimize the potential biological risks associated with radiation, it has designed products that have a flexible field of view (FOV), allowing the user to select the smallest area of interest when delivering radiation to acquire an x-ray image. With FOVs as small as 5 x 5 cm, users can significantly limit the amount of radiation they expose their patients to, compared to competitors’ products that have a fixed, larger field of view.

Vatech understands its markets and the role its products play in helping the dental profession deliver better diagnoses. Utmost in the minds of everyone in the company is that their work ultimately affects the health of patients throughout the world. It is a responsibility that is taken seriously.
The PaX-Reve3D, a 3-in-1 Cone Beam CT, cephalometric, and panoramic x-ray unit, is the first dental CT that realizes the Free FOV function, offering a customizable FOV from 5 x 5 cm to 15 x 15 cm, extending the areas of diagnosis. Specific regions within the FOV are selectable based on the need or purpose of diagnosis. The PaX-Reve3D has the smallest voxel size, low x-ray dosage, MAR technology, and a less-than-1-minute reconstruction time.
The PaX-Duo3D Cone Beam CT features auto-switching technology to allow alternating between panoramic and CT sensors without having to manually move the sensor. The PaX-Duo3D allows for the most advanced 3-D scan for patients but can quickly rotate for a 2-D scan. A dedicated sensor for each system provides superior image quality for an effective patient treatment plan and diagnosis through 3-D cross-sectional, canal, and implant simulation. The PaX-Duo3D also features a special scanning mode for scanning incisors, the mandibular canal, and maxillary molars. The scanner features an LCD window for patient guidance as well as an imbedded camera for patient positioning. PaX-Duo3D provides 4 multi-FOV sizes–5 x 5 cm, 8.5 x 5 cm, 8.5 x 8.5 cm, 12 x 8.5 cm–and an optional 15 x 13.5 cm. Diagnosis and treatment are completed more efficiently by having the option to chose a FOV size for a specific region of interest. Each capture mode of PaX-Duo3D obtains an optimized image of the region of interest with minimal radiographic exposure.
The PaX-Primo, a state-of-the-art, all-in-one panoramic unit, is small and compact with a manageable footprint. It’s designed to fit in the standard x-ray room. A built-in 10.4-in LCD touch panel with USB interface and SD memory card allows images to be saved to external data sources and transferred to a remote computer. A built-in Ethernet port allows for easy network integration. Side loading of the patient allows for a direct frontal view, making positioning easy and accurate. Featuring bite-wing, TMJ, and sinus modes, this versatile machine is on the leading edge of technology. Competitive pricing makes the PaX-Primo the most practical choice for the cost-conscious practitioner.
The EzSensor is an industry-leading intraoral sensor, offering superior diagnostic images that are essential to successful implant surgery and endodontic treatment. Featuring unparalleled durability and image quality, EzSensor delivers speed and efficiency while keeping patients comfortable. EzSensor’s 3 sizes–1.0, 1.5, and 2.0–support Vatech’s commitment to providing practitioners with proper digital infrastructure, offering a solution to fit any practice’s needs.
