In that spirit, organizations from around the world are benefitting. Listed below are a few of the global charities and organizations that are receiving BIOMET 3i’s Support: Make-A-Wish Foundation® Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. In the United States this year, BIOMET 3i purchased Make-A-Wish Holiday Cards, where 45% of the proceeds from the cards went directly to the Foundation. Supporting Our Troops BIOMET 3i Team Members in the Palm Beach Gardens, Florida headquarters contributed generously to a collection drive for our troops overseas. A group of Team Members organized the contributions and packed 13 large boxes, which included gifts for children in Iraq and Afghanistan. AboutFace The Canadian division of BIOMET 3i purchased cards to support specialized programs to meet the needs of AboutFace children. AboutFace is a Canadian national charitable organization providing emotional and social support, resources and educational programs for people with facial differences and their families. Travail et Partage Travail et Partage employs and supports handicapped people. The BIOMET 3i Office in Belgium is purchasing office supplies from this organization to help fund training and support. Sternschnuppe Sternschnuppe is a Swiss children support foundation that fulfills the wishes of children and young adolescents by providing special events and experiences for them. The BIOMET 3i Swiss Office is contributing donations. Support is given with the close collaboration of the members of the organization, physicians and specialists. Waldpiraten-Camp The Waldpiraten-Camp is a special camp for children who have cancer and is run by the German Childhood Cancer Foundation. This year, the German BIOMET 3i Office is supporting the camp by making a donation to the foundation on behalf of their local customers. Orphans in Africa BIOMET 3i Spain Team Members made contributions to a chain of Toy Stores (Imaginarium) that collected and sent toys to Orphans in Africa. Contributions were also made to a celebrity sponsored collection for Solidarity Shoes, which collects shoes for children in Africa. This year’s campaign was promoted by world celebrity soccer player Samuel Etoo. BIOMET 3i is a leading manufacturer of dental implants, abutments and related products. This humanitarian program provided free dental care to approximately 1,300 patients of all ages who might not otherwise have afforded the essential services provided. Numerous workstations comprised of portable dental equipment manufactured by Aseptico (and others), including chairs, lights, stools, and delivery units were used by the many volunteer dentists and staff to examine and treat patients with a variety of needs. Mission of Mercy and similar events highlight the need for public and private outreach programs, especially in a difficult economy.
